New content includes: the Immigration Collection, which features New York and San Francisco passenger lists and the New York Petitions for Naturalization Index. Ancestry Library Edition features more than 1.2 billion records of interest to genealogy researchers, including digitized images of the U.S. Census from 1790 forward and the Social Security Death Index.

America's Obituaries & Death Notices
 A collection of newspaper obituaries and death notices, mostly 1990s to date, but a few newspapers date to the 1980s.  Easily searchable by name of the deceased and date range.  Full text is also searchable for information such as residence, occupation, hobbies, schools attended and family members.

Family Search - The largest collection of free family history, family tree and genealogy records in the world, compiles by The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. 

Census of Population and Housing, 1800 - Present
U.S. Census Bureau is scanning historical census data as records become available for their use. Many are already accessible, free of charge, a the Census Bureau site.

Cleveland Necrology File 
The Cleveland Necrology File contains local cemetery records and newspaper death notices for the following years: 1833, 1847-1848, 1850-1975. A more complete description of the file’s contents can be found in the “About” section of the database. Lake County GenWeb Project

Databases are being added on a regular basis. Over 10,000 Lake County Probate Births 1867-1908 are now under Vital Records, thanks to lots of volunteers' efforts.

Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps for Ohio  
A treasure trove of information, detailed maps at building level for more than 400 Ohio communities from 1868 to the 1960s. Negotiating the site may require some practice. Try the 1024 x 768 pixel size. Use a city and street name or city and building's name where possible to search in keyword or limit your search by date.
