Meet Gus the Book Bus!
We launched our bookmobile service in 2019 and quickly started calling it “Gus the Book Bus.”
Gus is a full mobile library branch where patrons can apply for library cards and check out and return materials including books, magazines, movies and more.
Madison’s elementary students are enjoying Gus’s monthly visits to school where children check out books and magazines. All students in kindergarten through fifth grades have been issued library cards they can use on the bookmobile and in Madison Public Library.

We are continually on the lookout for new stops to add to Gus’ schedule so we can bring as many library materials as possible into the community. We know it is difficult for some to come to the library, so it is our goal to bring the library into the community as often as we can.
If you have questions about Gus or suggestions for our outreach, let us know!
