Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
Today Dr. Seuss would have been 113 years old. In honor of his birthday I want to highlight my two favorite Dr. Seuss books. The best part of these books is that they sort of go together.
Oh the Place You’ll Go is the perennial gift for graduates and people moving on to new exciting adventures in life. It is a book about confidence and going forth with the knowledge that you are prepared for what lies ahead. This is a powerful message and one I have enjoyed for years.
Hooray for Diffendoofer Day was an unpublished partially completed manuscript. It was completed by Jack Prelutsky and Lane Smith and they both did an amazing job living up to the spirit of Dr. Seuss. In the day and age of lots of school testing and ranking, this is a humorous look at education and learning.
