- Photo Editing in GIMP – This is a hands-on computer lab class that goes through very basic photo editing using open source photo editing software called GIMP. People are encouraged to bring their own photos to the class.
- Finding Stuff to 3D Print – Many people would love to have something to print on the 3D printer, but they don’t know where to look for designs and files that will print on either a filament or resin 3D printer. This is a hands-on computer lab class.
- Cutting the Cord – Cable is expensive. Find out about all the different streaming options as well as where and when you can still get television channels with an antenna.
- Custom Molds – Bring your own object, make a mold with the vacuum former, and now you can make custom items! Make custom soaps, chocolate, or candles with your unique mold. There is a cost per mold for this class.
- Button Party! – Bring photos or original designs to make into custom buttons suitable for wearing on jackets, purses, and bags. There is a cost per button for this class.
- Design a Mug – Using the library’s heat press as well as sublimation materials you can design a one-of-a-kind design to put on a ceramic mug. There is a cost per mug for this class.
- Design a T-Shirt – Making a custom t-shirt is all the rage right now. Participants provide the t-shirt, and the library provides the heat press and design help. There is a cost per shirt for this class.
- Laser Design Coasters – Bars and restaurants have custom coasters, why can’t you?! Bring a design, and the library will work with individuals to get that design ready to be used on cork with the laser engraver. There is a cost per coaster for this class.
- Fancy Socks – Don’t you just love the fancy socks that have writing on the bottom. Design your own special socks and use the heat press and sublimation printer to do it. There is a cost per pair of socks for this class.
The funding for Stan the Tech Van as well as a wide variety of equipment was received through a grant, and this grant is part of the American Rescue Plan Act and funded in part through the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services LSTA grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio.
